Whew!

Well another week has come. What an intense weekend I had! With two birthday parties and a ginormous 8.8 earthquake in Chile.....wasn't sure how I was gonna make it. As you can tell in previous posts the birthdays were superb....and thanks to many prayers my brother in law Shane who is serving in the Concepcion Chile South Mission is okay! I can't even begin to tell you how long and exhausting Saturday was ....waiting to hear from the church if he was okay. I spent all day Saturday @ my in-laws just waiting w/my brother in law Blake and his mom. My husband Levi was out truck driving and his dad and other brother had gone to Mesquite for the weekend to do some golfing. So it was jus the three of us there waiting....
There are nine missions in Chile and apparently by early afternoon all 8 missions had reported in but they just couldn't get ahold of anyone in Shane's mission. The wait was almost unbearable!! Finally at around 4:30PM or so....we finally got word that his mission had reported in and that all missionaries were safe and accounted for!!
Since then he has sent his parents two emails letting us know how he is doing....and he seems to be doing okay....considering the circumstances and all. Just read on Yahoo News that the quake was so strong that is shifted the earth off it's axis by 3 inches and our days are shortened by 1.26 milliseconds....how crazy is that!! Makes you wonder where the next earthquake will be......hmmm.......

  1. That was probably so scary... So I'm guessing Levi got a job? Colby is jobless now... I guess we keep passing each others unemployment luck to each other.
