First off, I needed to show off my sister's darling little boy! I just love love love this little guy!
He was born @ home early Monday morning (Dec 27th). Her due date was actually Jan 14th...so she was about three weeks early. She named him Owen Jay, and when she took him to the pediatrician to have him checked out he came in weighing only 5 lbs 9 oz! Such a little guy! He also had a little case of jaundice, but other than that he is healthy happy boy.
Clarissa was a little shocked, I guess we could say, when little Owen came out a boy. She really really thought she was having a girl. Thanks to all the wonderful people who have been giving me baby clothes, I was able to go through what I have and run her over some clothes. However, since he is just a little preemie ...nothing fits him! A few days ago, I ran down to Carter's (to return some girl clothes Clarissa had) and got her some super cute and super tiny clothes, so now her little guy has something to wear!
Levi, to say the very least, is so in love with this little boy. He calls him "Baby O" and wants to go over there everyday just so he can hold him. All I can say is I sure hope Levi is this excited and involved when our baby comes.
Well, let's say Levi is going to get his chance here pretty darn quick.
I went to one of my appts yesterday, and according to the ultrasound, Baby J is still not growing. My fluid is still okay, but it is getting low and Baby J is super super squished. She actually told me I dropped three pounds over the weekend. What?!? Baby J has been bouncing around 5 1/2 lbs or so for the last several weeks. That means my 20 min appts have become like 2 hour appts for the last few visits. I have been hooked up to those darn monitors so many times!! Baby J tho, has always passed with flying colors. He may be small but he is healthy and moving all around. Levi just thinks the ultrasound machines are all wrong and Baby J is really bigger than he is showing, and my mom thinks it's funny to scare me into thinking I might be having twins instead. Haha...fat chance!
Well during my last visit, while I was on the monitor, the nurse girl had to keep "buzzing" Baby J, and I had to keep moving and then I had to drink some cold apple juice, and I guess this time...he didn't pass. Therefore, my midwife came in and finally said....We're done! She called McKay Dee and I am having a scheduled induction this Thursday @ 8AM!!!
Oh goodness! What to do....what to do? Everyone keeps telling me how weird it is that I know when I am having my baby.
Levi got my duffel bag out yesterday and we started "packing" for our trip to the hospital. I got my toothbrush and some deoderant and a comb and socks...but what else? Oh pillows....I've got to remember to bring pillows! I then got my diaper bag out and put in some baby blankets and some little baby clothes. I'm going to the Lactation Station today after work to get myself outfitted in that department.
People also keep asking me if I'm ready or whatever....and I'm like ...sure... I guess. Even though this birth is completely scheduled....I still have no idea what to expect. I have no idea how everything will play out and how long I will be there.....I figure I will be home by Saturday...but who knows.
One part of me is so dang excited to not be stinkin' pregnant anymore!!! Then the other half is like...oh man I sure hope this works out....am I really ready for this. Little scared....little nervous.
I called and told my mom and she was of course crazy excited, but then started telling me that I need to get my house in order, get everything cleaned, have some dinners in the freezer for when we come home and on and on and on...and she would love to help me ...but guess what....today is her anniversary and her and my dad are going out of town and won't be back until Friday night!! Then work in the temple all day Saturday. Go figure.
Oh well.....this baby is coming and of course I am super happy. I'm sure he will be just fine and we are going to come out of this birth absolutely fine. Levi is home with me and that is the most important thing to me right now.
I'm so excited that your baby is coming so soon! I can't wait til I get to that point!
ReplyDeleteI probably shouldn't feel that way already, but if this being sick doesn't let up soon, that feeling is NOT going to change!
Ok!!! How can I help??? I have some ideas. This is pretty exciting.
ReplyDeletewow here you go!!! The adventure begins. I think you and Levi should go stay at a cool hotel or something for one last time.
