Memorial Day started early.....but that was okay. I'm just glad I didn't have to get up and go to work (and it was a paid holiday which is super nice too!)
Levi and I got to his parents house @ 8AM and had a yummy breakfast! Well actually it was my second breakfast because Levi didn't tell me that his mom was making us all breakfast so I ate before we left. Oh, well!
We then all headed off, his parents, two brothers and Levi and me, to Antelope Island. I used to go there all the time when I was a little girl with my family. My dad was in a bike club (pedal bike that is) and so we all had bikes as kids and we would all ride around the island. I even had my 11yr old birthday there. I haven't been there is years tho so I was excited to go see it again.
When we got there we decided to hike the Frary Peak Trail. It was a pretty steep hike and about 6 1/2 miles all together. When we got a peak some way up the hill (we didn't hike the whole trail) we stopped and you could look over the whole Great Salt Lake. It was beautiful! Kind like the picture. I didnt' take that one but it looked somewhat like that. We stayed there for a little bit just enjoying the view then headed back down since everyone had things they needed to get done that day.
After visiting with his family for a little bit after we headed home. Levi then mowed the front and back lawn and changed the oil in both our cars. We then went to the store and bought a bunch of food and water to last him a week and then got home and got him all packed up to leave again :(
When all of that was done....we were pretty tired! Clarissa (my little sis) called and thought we should all do something together...being a holiday and all. I told her if she wanted to bring me dinner she is more then welcome to come over!! Guess what? She did! She brought over to some pizza and salad! Yummy! She also brought over a movie called "Gifted Hands" with Cuba Gooding Jr in it.
The movie wasn't rated so I got the feeling that it would be some sappy Halmark type of movie, but I figured I will give it a shot. It was actually a really good show. It's the true story of a guy (I can't rembember his name) who didn't have the best life (failing in school, discrimination, no father, etc) but because his mom pushed him so hard in school to be the best he could be he ended up beoming the #1 leading neurosurgeon in the world. His big breakthrough was that he successfully seperated twins conjoined @ the head. Apparently he still practices @ some hospital in Chicago. I think the reason I liked this show so much that it showed that "everything" starts in the home. I truly believe that.
